Maison Lafont’s history is synonymous with a family saga. Four successive generations each wrote a chapter in the brand’s history.
Louis Lafont began this family saga. In 1923, he opened an optical boutique in the Madeleine neighborhood in Paris, steps from the excitement of the Grands Boulevards.
His son Jean Lafont put the Rue Vignon shop on the map as the latest fashionable address and enhanced the optical expertise by offering bespoke frames.
The third generation, led by Philippe Lafont and his wife Laurence, marked a turning point. At the family boutique, they offered colorful products with contemporary lines and proportions that echoed the aspirations of their time. Success soon followed and the Lafont brand was born.
