Family Spirit
1923: Louis Lafont opens the first optical and hearing aid store in Paris, on Rue Vignon in the 8th arrondissement. A passionate entrepreneur, he passes on his expertise as an optician, both aesthetic and technical, to future generations.
1970s: Under the leadership of Philippe Lafont and his wife Laurence, who breathe new life into the company, the Maison reaches a turning point. In the family boutique, they offer colorful, bold collections with contemporary lines and proportions, reflecting the aspirations of their time. The success is immediate: a signature style emerges, and the Lafont brand is born.
Creativity, freedom, and modernity became the pillars of a strong identity, recognized far beyond France's borders.
Today, brothers Matthieu and Thomas Lafont, great-grandsons of the founder, run the century-old company independently. Heirs to a unique family history, they are taking on the new challenges of a constantly changing world.
Looking ahead, Maison Lafont is tackling tomorrow's most pressing challenges: eco-responsibility, sustainable materials, and preserving the art of craftsmanship. Staying true to its roots, the brand blends heritage with innovation, tradition with modernity, carrying forward a family spirit that spans generations.
Now more than ever, Maison Lafont stands behind its independence, its eyewear expertise, and its commitment to French manufacturing.
